1. The new committee members, chau, and adam, we welcomed.

2. Hardware

       ========
       Patrick Grant has given a list of hardware for which he can
       guarantee SPC funding.
       It includes a PII Motherboard and 400mhz Processor (not celeron),
       SCSI Card, and Fast Ram.

       Adam will get another two quotes for a dual board instead, and
       present that proposal to the SPC, rather than a single processor
       board.

       Hard Drives - /var, and /home, are nearly full, we need to get more
               disk space.
               We have over 60gigs of disks, but they are noisy, and we need
               to find another room for the monolith. Justin will investigate.

3. Newsgroups

       ==========
       Some ridiculous groups are appearing - "things tanya hates", and
       "house of jam".
       Brian suggested a newsgroup hierarchy.
       House of Jam will be removed, and "things tanya hates" will make
       way for a redbrick.hated group instead.

4. AGM

       ===
       Night in the Bar on the 8th
       Night out on the 15th instead, cecily will investigate "the norseman"
               in Temple bar.
       Dave murphy has put forward some motions which can be read on the
       newsgroups; the basic argument being that admin test is not compulsary
       (9 committee members voted against supporting the motion, only
       brian voted in favour, therefore the committee will NOT support this
       amendment to the constitution).
       It also calls for non-elected admins to have the same authority and
       power that elected admins have, again, the committee were not in
       favour of this motion.

       Candidates for election as we see them at the moment are...
       Chairperson - Jonathan Lundberg, Anthony "huey" Miles
       Secretary - Caroline Sheedy, Kevin "p" cannon
       Treasurer - Damien "otto" martin, Justin Moran
       Helpdesk        -       Tibor, Neomage, Munchkin
       PRO             -       Julie, Kudo
       Ents - Cecily, Orly "orly" orly.
       Webmaster       -       Brian.
       It was decided that no candidates should be publically endorsed
       by the committee, but members of the committee are free to
       nominate who they wish.
       Voting this year will be done by a proportional representation system.
       There will be no electronic voting, or postal voting.

5. 486's - These will be sold to the highest bidders.

6. AOB

       ===

       User "Jasper" got an account called mother, and attempted to
       impersonate an admin in order to get ppl's passwords..
       drop him to adventure shell.
       Flin is no longer a feasible option, and will make way in september
       for a new shell written by John Bolger.
       Chat - IRM is good, but nonstandard, it should be used for now.
               Kevin Cannon is writing an IRC script to make RBIRC easier
               to use.

7. Helpdesk Test - Last years results will not count for this year.
