Matters Discussed

Money

  • We've been allocated £200 towards the meal in Wagamamas, which cost us about £130 so there's a nice £70 profit there. At the moment there is £50 in the bank but this should be bolstered by the wagamamas money & the leftover money from the switch. The switch has been ordered by Dave Murphy at a cost of £2300 or so and the allocation is £2473.24.
  • As far as the committee meal goes we're going to try & book Captain Americas for 15 or so people, we need to get some definate numbers as to who's going and we'll see about getting it for a weeknight, provisionally Tuesday 30th May.

Ents

Orly will ring hostels in the Galway region and try to book somewhere for us to stay during the first weekend in June. We'd be leaving on Friday @ 3pm or so and coming back on the Monday. The allocation is £1000 for travel and £1000 for accomodation.

Next Year / Freshers Stuff

  • Brian McLoughlan has been speaking to some of us about his "Big Day out" that he has planned for Freshers/Orientation Week. It looks as if it's going to be quite an event if everything he has planned is pulled off, so we're going to try and get into the effort and make sure that Redbrick is well known and associated by the freshers with the day. It's currently planned for Wed 22nd September and will be sponsored by the AIB, the Irish times, the SPC & SU. The SPC & SU are expected to contribute about £550 towards it each.
  • Another one of Brians Ventures is his "Big Ball" which at the moment seems to be the only ball that's getting SPC Backing next year, meaning it will be the only ball run. If this is the case it would probably be best for redbrick to become involved in it. It's planned for 15th november with around 800 for the dinner and 500 for after it.
  • The redbrick event will again take place on the first Tuesday after the Clubs & Socs day. The venuse hasn't been decided yet by a long shot but it's looking like it will be in The Temple Bar Music centre due to the space in there for multiple bands etc and the pricetag of £500. We'll try & get a decent name band in to headline if at all possible.
  • The halloween event could be held Upstairs in Mother Redcaps as it seems to have the right sort of setting.. £200 -> £300 perhaps? There's no catering included in that.
