The Name:	Mother () n.The name Mother was chosen by John (Kate) (valen@rb) and was named after the computer in the film Alien.

Description

Mother went live in January 1998 and it replaced Nurse as the primary login machine on the 12th February 1998. It was the first Solaris machine. The chassis and motherboard are still hanging around the Monolith. As of April 2008, however, nobody knows where the Monolith is.
