MINUTES OF DCUNS COMMITTEE MEETING - 19/3/98 - CANTEEN

Funnel Event

  • Date - April 15th , Clubs and Socs awards should not interfere with it.
  • Cost - 300 pounds - Atmosphere Music Soc to pay 1/3 of all costs.
  • Approach Clubbers Society - bands have to stop playing at 11.45.
  • Funnel Manager - Jonathan.
  • Kevin will arrange posters.
  • Bands - Kid Icarus, Dead Man's Flats - pay 50 each. Other bands go free.
  • Organise 1 coach from Funnel to DCU after event.

Server

200 pounds needed for new fans

AGM

  • Tuesday 31st March
  • Voting for Sysadmin/Helpdesk will be done on a 1,2,3 points system, with members being asked to vote for three in order of their preference.
    • Anyone getting first preference vote will get 3 points,
    • 2nd pref = 2 points
    • 3rd pref = 1 point

Top three points go on to positions on committee.

  • Ents/PRO position
    • It was decided that instead of creating a new position, PRO will be ultimately responsible for ENTS, with the aid of four gophers. The committee reccomends the following people for positions on the committee next year.
      • Treasurer - Caroline Sheedy (?)
      • PRO - Cecily Murray
      • Admins - Kachun, Cian, John Looney.
      • Helpdesk - Bobb, bob.
      • Webmaster - Dave Murphy.

Sysadmin/Helpdesk exams will take place on thursday before the AGM.

Membership

  • Members must have current student number.
  • Grace period of ONE YEAR given to those without.

Sponsorship

Approach Beer Companies - Heineken, Miller. Apache Pizza

Clubs and Societies Office

  • E-mail is to be the only medium used by those in the clubs and socs office to contact the societies.
  • Redbrick will be used for this purpose.
  • A tutorial should be organised for all clubs and societies on how to use the system, mailing lists, etc.

Photocopying

Kevin took five pounds to pay for photocopying costs.
